Mattress Firm Appoints Anne Dament As Executive Vice President & Chief Merchandising Officer

HOUSTON, TX (October 13, 2021)Mattress Firm, the nation’s largest mattress specialty retailer, announced today that Anne Dament has joined the company as executive vice president and chief merchandising officer. Dament is a leading retail expert with a proven track record in implementing innovative business strategies, consumer-focused solutions and transformational merchandising plans to grow retail market share.

At Mattress Firm, Dament will lead the merchandising strategy across all channels to support the company’s goals and further elevate Mattress Firm within the market. Using a data-driven approach, Dament will concentrate on delivering a customer-focused strategy that produces an optimal assortment and shopping experience for our customers.

Dament joins Mattress Firm from United Natural Foods, Inc., the nation’s largest public wholesaler of health and specialty food, where she was a member of the executive management team directing Retail, Marketing and Private Brands. Prior to that, she led Omnichannel Merchandising, Private Brands and Marketing teams throughout her career, including Chief Merchandising and executive roles at SuperValu, Target, Safeway and PetSmart. Dament is an experienced omnichannel retail leader with a passion for building high performance teams and impactful connections with her cross-functional partners.

Dament will collaborate with industry and Mattress Firm veteran Philip Busker, Executive Vice President, Merchandising, to propel the merchandising agenda forward. In his more than 30 years with the company, Busker has taken on a variety of leadership roles across multiple functions, giving him an in-depth, multidimensional view of what drives the business. Busker will report to Dament.
