Kindel Nuño is Mattress Firm’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel. She joined the company in 2012 as Vice President and General Counsel, responsible for providing guidance on legal compliance and responsibility.
Prior to her work at Mattress Firm, Nuño was an Associate and then Senior Associate at Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. from 2004 through 2012. During that time, she spent one year on secondment in Tokyo, Japan with Mitsui & Co., Ltd., a Japanese trading company traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Nuño has experience in various legal activities, including mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities transactions, and finance. Since 2016, Nuño has served on the board of directors and finance committee of Children at Risk, a Texas non-partisan research and advocacy organization dedicated to addressing the root causes of poor public policies affecting children in the areas of health and nutrition, early childhood education, parenting, human trafficking and immigration. She was appointed as Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair of Children at Risk in 2020 and in 2022, Nuño was recognized by Children at Risk as the 2021 Board Member of the Year.
Kindel holds a B.A. in Psychology and Political Science from Vanderbilt University and a J.D. from the University of Texas. She lives in Houston with her husband and together they enjoy exploring the world every chance they can.
