Bill Best is a seasoned supply chain executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience across retail, technology and global logistics. As Senior Vice President of Supply Chain at Mattress Firm, he leads Inventory Planning, Vendor Execution, Customer Care, Logistics and Distribution, driving operational excellence while fostering a strong People culture and supporting an industry-leading delivery satisfaction NPS.
Previously, Bill served as Vice President of Supply Chain at REI, overseeing division leaders and end-to-end supply chain operations, including domestic and international logistics, omnichannel strategy and trade compliance. During his 11-year tenure, he implemented robust S&OP processes and a culture of continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Bill’s earlier leadership roles include senior positions at Microsoft, where he directed global logistics sourcing and inbound supply chain operations across multiple regions, and Cisco Systems, where he managed global transportation services and manufacturing transformation initiatives. He also held a business development role at BAX Global, delivering supply chain solutions to high-tech clients.
Recognized for building trust, fostering psychologically safe teams and driving enterprise-level results, Bill is passionate about developing high-performing teams, strengthening executive partnerships and advancing innovative supply chain strategies that create measurable value.
Outside of work, Bill has contributed to mentoring and community service, serving on advisory boards and nonprofit organizations, including the Western Washington University MSCM Student Advisory Board and the Northwest Trek Foundation.
