John Broses is a seasoned real estate and operations executive with more than 40 years of experience leading large, multi‑state portfolios across retail and manufacturing. In his return to Mattress Firm, he will assume interim leadership of the Real Estate function, guiding market strategy, site selection, lease negotiation, renewals, construction and facilities oversight.
John previously served in several leadership roles at Mattress Firm, including Vice President of Administration, where he negotiated all new store leases, oversaw lease administration and managed thousands of renewals, delivering tens of millions in occupancy savings. He also supported the real estate function during key organizational transitions, providing stability and strategic guidance when the company underwent significant change.
Before joining Mattress Firm, John spent more than two decades at Murray’s Discount Auto Stores, rising from store management to Vice President of Administration, where he led Real Estate, Facilities, Construction, HR, Loss Prevention and Sales Audit. He later served as Divisional Vice President at CSK Auto, overseeing more than 250 locations across eight states. His experience also includes serving as Chief Administrative Officer at WS Packaging and, most recently, Senior Vice President of Real Estate for Comoto Holdings, where he restructured real estate, construction and facilities operations and opened or relocated more than 50 stores.
A Detroit native, he has been married to his wife, Christine, for 40 years and enjoys time with family, golf and travel.
